The golf tournament was a huge success this past Saturday. Everyone had a great time. A heartfelt “Thank You” to all who golfed, bought ball drop tickets, came to Chicago Uno’s fundraiser nights, donated, and especially those of you who volunteered your time to make this event such a success!! Lola had a blast and we were especially happy that Krissta and Addisyn, who also has SWS, were here from California to share in this event. It was a day filled with generosity, love and hope. We don’t have the final amount raised yet, but we do know that we surpassed last year’s amount of $13K. All I can say is “AMAZING!!”...and I say that with a big, giant, smile on my face!
And other good news…Lola will be traveling to Detroit either the end of May or beginning of June (don’t have all the details yet) as she has just been accepted by the Detroit Center of Excellence - Children’s Hospital of Michigan, to be part of a study to detect extent and severity of structural and functional brain abnormalities. Their advanced imaging techniques are able to detect aspects of brain involvement (including brain perfusion, angiogenesis, small vessel problems, etc.) that cannot be seen by conventional imaging but may be critical for the prognosis and clinical course of the disease. All free of charge.
Lola and Henry (the grandkids) and Amanda (my daughter) are leaving for their new home in Little Rock , Arkansas tomorrow. It has been absolutely wonderful having them here. I’m going to miss them…enough said!
It’s a Wonderful Wednesday - Make a difference!
