It's just a hat...

It was a Tilley hat...I used it for golfing...It was great for protection from the sun. It caught on fire this morning. I left it on a lamp in my bedroom...ooppsssyyyy!

My first thought when I smelled smoke in my house was that something might be happening next door...maybe the neighbor has her fireplace going...or more alarming...maybe she fell asleep with a cigarette in bed...yea, I know, I immediately went to worst case scenario thinking she may have caught her house on fire...but my mind went there instantly.

I followed the smell and it led me right to the scene...there sat Tilley...smoke rising from her brim...my lovely pink hat that has protected me on so many beautiful sunny days was now burning...quickly. I grabbed her...ran to the kitchen and threw her in the sink. As I drenched her in cold water I couldn't help but grin...how stupid was that...she's just a hat...an expensive hat...drats!!!
