This is the day...

It's been crazy. Class size amendment has impacted so many students and their families. I feel for each and every one of them. I have heard stories of despair and misfortune. I have been consumed and overwhelmed...I'm not the only one. I work with some amazing people...they understand. Their outpour of concern and their offer to help will never be forgotten. I have questioned...I have cursed...I have cried...I have complained...

When my kids were little I drove a blue ford mustang. It had a cassette player. One of my favorite cassettes was a children's cassette called "Sunday Sing Along." In fact, there were two, "First Sunday Sing Along" and "Second Sunday Sing Along." My daughter still has them. I haven't listened to them in at least 20 years. I would play these cassettes over and over and over. In the house...in the car...we would sing along and I knew every word. They were children's songs...uplifting...religious...easy to sing to and we loved them.

I was dreading the day...so many phone calls...too many voice mails...need to respond to emails...letters to be written...applications to be processed...deadlines to be met...so much to do...not enough time...

I parked my car...closed the door...locked it...and then I heard it...that beautiful song...a song from 20 years ago...I heard it loud...the "Bose" stereo version loud, clear and beautiful...the same children singing...

"This is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it"...

Really??...now where did that come from...I guess I needed to be reminded...so I listened...and then I sang and hummed and sang the words over and over and smiled...

I hope you all have a Wonderful Wednesday with no complaints and music that fills your soul with meaning to make a difference.
