The right place…at the right time…

My sister and I were in Jacksonville . We dined at a restaurant referred to us by a friend. It was a delightful surprise to say the least.

We arrived with no reservation…it’s a small intimate restaurant that overlooks the water. Luckily, we were able to be seated. The house wine was spectacular. Quite frankly I don’t think I’ve ever had a house wine that good. We were excited at the food selections on the menu. Our server, Tiffany, was a jewel. We started with a salad that we shared. Who knew arugula salad with grilled shrimp could be so absolutely delicious. We were feeling happy with our discovery of “Marker 32.”

As we sipped on our wine and finished our salad the restaurant was becoming more and more crowded. The homemade breads were good enough for seconds and we knew we were in for a treat with our dinner selections. Our dinner arrived and before we took our first bite we lowered our noses and just smelled the flavors. The grins on our faces were frozen. We ate a few bites…paused…and closed our eyes as our taste buds were exploding with pleasure. We stopped talking…chewed slowly…and kept smiling.

After several delicious bites…I sat back in the booth…I wanted to relish every moment of this meal. This was a treat and I knew it.

I happened to look to my left and witnessed the most amazing thing…

He was tall…handsome…and was on bended knee…

She was beautiful…smiling…and in shock…

The box was open as he handed it to her…he stood…she shook her hands with excitement.

I couldn’t believe I was witnessing a marriage proposal…I quickly told my sister…”He just asked her to marry him!”

My eyes were watering…so were hers.

There we sat…my sister and I…crying like babies…it was beautiful!

They didn’t know we were watching…we couldn’t keep our eyes off of them. It was their moment…they were in a crowded restaurant…and it was obvious they saw no one but each other.

They hugged…then kissed…and hugged again…he was smiling…she was still shaking…she kept holding her left hand in the air…gazing with delight at the new shiny ring…

We didn’t feel like we were imposing…we felt special…what they didn’t know was that as much as this moment was going to be a lifetime memory for them…it was also going to be a lifetime memory for us…

We were strangers…witnessing the most beautiful moment…love…true…raw…emotional…

And we felt it as we cried…

Our server arrived to check on us and we told her what we saw…she was just as excited and quickly asked the bartender for two glasses of champagne.

As they sipped on champagne…they still saw no one but each other…their smiles were big…white…infectious…they were beautiful to watch.

You couldn’t help but feel the love they had for each other.

It was Wednesday…it was Wonderful…

Before we left we introduced ourselves…their names are Amy and Jamie…

We hugged as we congratulated them. We told them we witnessed the proposal and how excited we were for them. We thanked them for the beautiful memory and wished them well. They are unique…they are in love…it’s true…we felt it…

We were at the right place at the right time…

I wish you all a Wonderful Wednesday full of blessings, special moments, and smiles. True love makes a difference!
